I have taught English literature in the University of Delhi system since 2010, and hold a permanent position at ARSD College. My teaching draws directly on my research in Victorian and postcolonial literature, crime fiction, and gender studies.

Sensation and detective fiction, the New Woman, and the relationship between literary form and industrial modernity.

Popular fiction & genre

Crime and detective writing, fantasy, and children’s literature as sites of subversion and social commentary.

Postcolonial & world literature

Postcolonial women’s writing, colonial print culture, and decolonial approaches to the Victorian literary field.

Gender & mobility

Gender studies, women’s writing, and the literature of travel, transport, and urban space.
