Alongside my academic post, I take on editorial, consulting, collaborative, speaking, and teaching work in the fields I research: Victorian literature, nineteenth-century crime and detective fiction, colonial India and Bengali print culture, and mobility. Background

I was awarded a PhD in English by the University of St Andrews in 2026 for a thesis on mobility and the nineteenth-century female detective across Britain, Australia, and India, and I have taught English literature in the University of Delhi system since 2010. Before that, I worked as an Assistant Editor in the Academic Division of Oxford University Press.

I read and write English and Hindi to native proficiency and Bengali to professional proficiency. I am Research Lead at Archēglyph and host Empire Sleuths for the Empires Collective. The curriculum vitae gives the full record.
