Research Collaboration

I welcome research collaborations with scholars, research groups, archives, and cultural organisations working on Victorian literature, nineteenth-century crime fiction, mobility, and colonial and vernacular print culture. My work combines literary history with archival research in India and, through Archēglyph, digital humanities methods for image-based and multilingual archives.

What I can help with

  1. I.

    Co-authored articles and chapters

    Joint work that brings British, Australian, and Bengali material into conversation. My co-authored article with Priyanka Kulhari appeared in The Discussant in 2017.

  2. II.

    Grant applications and partnerships

    Contributing as a partner or subject specialist to funding applications. I have secured funding from the AHRC (through SGSAH), SGSAH engagement funding, the Russell Trust, and the British Association for Victorian Studies.

    Conferences, panels, and edited collections

    Co-organising events and publications, as with Undercover Agents: Women, Crime, and Detection in the Global 19th Century at the University of St Andrews in 2025, organised with Professor Sara Lodge.

    Archival research in India

    Research in Indian archives and on Bengali-language sources, including archival research in Delhi supported by SGSAH (2023) and at the National Archives, New Delhi, supported by the Russell Trust (2025).

    Digital humanities projects

    Projects that need text extracted and analysed from image-based or multilingual archives, through Archēglyph, where I am Research Lead.
